Nuclear Future
News time is here again
I recognise that guy
The one with the smile our beloved PM
The man with the grin concealing the lie
He’s on our screens to show us the way
He’s being honest this time
Or so he does say
Now that he’s dealt with terror and crime
Now saving the Environment is his new crusade
At this news I perk up and wonder
Can he be serious in this plan he does forge
The man who made the Iraq blunder
Is the decision made without a nudge from George?
Alas my hopes for change soon die
His plan to go nuclear is more than just wrong
Again he stands their, Again he lies
He says nuclear technology had really come on
I say to you in this slant
You’re increasing the chance increasing the risk
The odds they shorten with every new plant
And what about those terrorists
The rich and famous need not worry
The nuclear time bomb will lie far from their door
The politics of the world dictate
It will only burden the poor
Dear Mr Mugabe
A spectre of death
Stalks your once proud land
The blood on the streets
Flows by your hand
The people suffer
By your deluded mind
Africa’s breadbasket
Once lush and wealthy
Now the bread is stale
And rotten to the core
The baskets full of holes
You can not plug the gaps
Taking back white farmland
And bulldozing the poor
These are your policies
Causing insane inflation
And mass exodus
Bringing the country to its knees
You surround yourself with yes men
Heavily armed and dined like kings
To keep them on your side
Without them you are nothing
The fear you’ll lose power
Makes you paranoid and dangerous
Your mind unravels
As you traverse a downward spiral
Who can you trust?
Who wants your job?
Your days are numbered
You’re running out of friends
Soon you’ll claim membership
Of an ever growing club
An end to your era
By death or exile
Your time will come to pass
But it’s not the end of the story
A sad truth to be revealed
Africa’s lands ever open
To exploitation and greed
A vicious cycle ensues
One man, One Bullet,
Next Dictator please
Times up now
You’ve had your fun
Drunk your share
And partied enough
Got to get a good job
Focus on your future
Got to join the masses
Climb the corporate chain
Get your foot on the property ladder
First rung seems so far
Got to find a wife
Can’t stay single forever
Have a kid
Have two
Fulfil your purpose
Make a difference
Effect some change
Got to please boss
Placate the wife
And spoil the kids
To earn more
Is to be more
Life is not for living
Nor for fun
Only for achieving
Set your goals
Then beat them
Got to win the race
Got to be the best
Nobody loves a loser
Society tells us so
Even death is not the end
The judgement doesn’t stop
It’s just a chance to reflect
On how you used your life
Nobody will remember
The underachiever
Blinded By Faith
At the dawn of man
He questioned his world
How did he come to be?
Mythology grew at a pace
Ritual becomes a method of control
Men of power use it to force their will
Blinded by faith
You justify the hate
Religion fuelling bloodshed
In a holy war
It’s God v God
But only man will lose
Huddled over scriptures
The holy man spreads the lies
In those sacred halls
Common sense fears to tread
People flock to hear the word
Leave your brain at the door
As science fills in the puzzle
Of how it all began
You fear you’ll lose your grip
When we have no need for God
So you brainwash your children
That to question faith is wrong
They mock the unbeliever
Portraying them as evil
They shun reasoned thought
For ancient superstition
Creating faith schools
To indoctrinate the young
I’m an enemy of God
Prime candidate for jihad
Won’t change my view
By fear or by force
Our culture has evolved
So why haven’t you?

Ode to the nectar
Sprung from your glass prison
The sweet elixir
Of the devils making
Pervert my thoughts
But quiet my mind
You sit before me
A sombre and loyal friend
Ever present
Never questioning
But always knowing
My body longs for your sweet embrace
A chance to taste
Bring a smile to my face
You, me and the smoke
That’s the holy trinity
An alliance through the ages
Now barred by law
The nectar helps
To quench my thirst
Warms me in the winter
Comforts me when I’m blue
But I must say farewell
Or lose myself forever
To the highs and lows
Of your intoxicating hold

Some Poems
War on want
The country floats on a sea of greed
With a plastic swipe
They want for nothing
They need everything
They want it now
Tomorrow is nowhere
The money flows
The country grows
The tax man gets fat from the profit
The loan shark agree
To feed the debt
Spend it now
Worry later
The more you own
The happier you are
Have it all
Have it now
We’re forced to consume
By the culture of fear
Reassured the things we own
Make us who we are
Comfort comes from possession
The God of consumerism smiles
As we worship at his church
The cash corrupts
Everyone has their price
Nothing is sacred
Everything is for sale

Label Fable
Branded as you walk
You advertise their wares
You pay for the privilege
To be a human billboard
You’re just a tool in their campaign
They trap when you’re young
Installing brand loyalty through brainwashing
They want you for life
All they see is profit
Humanity has no worth
You’ll pay through the nose
Just to display that name
The third world child slaves
To create the garments you crave
Paid less than a penny an hour
The lust for cash
And need of global dominance
Will lead to the inevitable cry
Congratulations! It’s a boy!
“This baby was brought to you by McDonalds”
**************************************************
Selling to the Kids
You prey on their young minds
You want their loyalty early
Get them hooked now
You’ll have them for life
That’s your policy
You sell to them
In their Schools
In their TV shows
You’d be the sponsor of their dreams
If you could only find the way
You harness pester power
You expand your empire
You encourage them to beg and plead
You push their parents beyond their means
Their just pawns in your domination game
You rob them of their childhood
Mobile phones for eight year olds
Mini skirts and make up at ten
You encourage all the pier pressure
They all must have it or their not cool
You forever protest that your intentions are good
When you sponsor free sports equipment for schools
But profit always comes first in your eyes
And soon your true motives show through
Buy a thousand mars bars and you’ll get a tennis ball

Untitled
Once before the dawn of man
Lived the creatures of earth and air and sea
In a balanced world of life and death
They survive the floods and shifting lands
Life finds a way to make a stand
But no asteroid crash or tidal wave
Can match the destruction of the human age
The forests are cleared and the rivers tainted
The seas are stripped of fish and coral
A noble beast falls by their gun
The huntsman stalk their dwindling prey
It makes him feel so strong and brave
Worse the business man who likes his “sport” caged
As numbers fall the price will grow
The fee will rise more blood will flow
Man believes he has the right to kill
That he has dominion over plant and beast
He does not see or know his place
Obsessed with the superiority of the human race
He sees no evil in his ways
As habitats fall and ecosystems crumble
The future points to global extinction
With his head in cloud he does not see
That he cannot live without the trees
The Ape that poisons the water that gave him life
Will face the same fate as bird and bee
The fall of man will come to pass
If he does not change his ways
For he will pay the price for his crime
Mans final legacy to this earth
Will make it his own tomb

Half the world gorges while the other starves
The western world discards of food not pleasing to the eye
In Africa famine reaps a mother of its child
The TV appeal makes all feel guilty when presented with the sight
Of the tiny boy too weak to stand with pain upon his face
A quick phone call and payment made relieves us of our guilt
So swiftly forgotten is that boy in the distant land
“I’ve done my bit” we proudly say and carry on our greed
We live to eat and we do so by the mountain
We super size; we eat and eat ‘til our demise
Though the greed of the people is vast and unrelenting
It’s mild in comparison to those who choose to lead
Our rulers make an effort to get us to believe
They care about the ones who struggle to survive
Yet to little to help them or relieve them of their strife
They will make great speeches and the promises of aid
But behind this lies the truth and they know it in their hearts
Great riches of our nations we do not wish to share
The price of equality is far too much to bear
As they know to keep so rich there must always be the poor

Worshiping a new God
Cast away your texts and scriptures
Burn the churches and the mosques
The Stock Market is your guide now
The corporations your saviour
Look up; Look up to the scrapers of the sky
Marvel at these bastions of commerce
These Idols of the capitalist dwarf the little guy
The modern priest’s who dwell within play with the fates of men
Teach the children to worship their possessions
The more they have the better
Remove the sense of guilt they feel
Remind them of this mantra
As long as I feel ok the world can go to hell
Need you not the care of another
Nor the shelter of a tree
You can pollute your seas and rivers now
For you all can worship me
What need is there of birds that fly and beasts that roam
As long as you have money

Someone else’s problem
The planets in crisis though it’s hard to tell
People bury their heads and pretend it’s not real
The problem ignored can’t hurt us now
Until the matter is more pressing
The selfish look out for number one
They will keep their gas guzzlers
Only caring about themselves
They will keep creating rubbish
No thought to where it goes
Unaffected directly they continue unashamed
They pay no attention to the expert on TV
No credence given to those who know more than they
Denial is easy, no effort to be made
It won’t affect me anyway, the thought runs thought their mind
The next generation will have to pay for all of my crimes
The individual is guilty that of course is true
The governments also have no effort made
Vote winning rhetoric, resolutions for show
The changes needed too costly for some
We’ll pay the price later for their thoughtless ways
Fast forward twenty years or so
We will see a different scene
Oil reserves are all gone now
No more fuel for your car
No way to get you home
The man made barriers won’t hold the risen sea
The drought has dried the forest and starved the land
People on all continents fight to stay alive
Only now the selfish see the error of their ways
The planets on the brink of extinction and now you want to save
***************************
War on Lies
Stood affront your people now
You tell us tales of plots and plans
To rob us of our freedom and our lives
You say we must strike first to prevent our doom
Their weapon can strike within the hour
Those who scoff you do not hear
A million marched you do not see
Through it all you remain unfazed
Continue to spread your lies
In false intelligence you blindly trust
Standing shoulder to shoulder with your master
Your toothy grin his vacant stare
You draw your plans against an ancient land
Shock and awe will make them tow the line
The tactics of terror justified here
Night after night death rains on Baghdad
The cradle of culture rocks with every bomb
Destroyed schools and blood in the streets
Collateral damage in your quest for oil
The death toll rises as profit demands
The statue falls and the war is won?
People cheer and soldiers feel their job is done
But euphoria soon becomes chaos
In a land with out a leader
Victorious liberators turn to figures of hate
The tyrant dethroned, the country defeated
Now on the brink of civil war
The road side bombs still kill your troops
You sit unrepentant in your home
Though death is now the currency of Iraq
The Black Gold is all your own

The Blame Game
The culture of blame
Sailed in from overseas
To end the accident
Creating the victim
Finding a culprit
Incompetence is celebrated
Common sense is shunned
Every slip requires compensation
Every fall a reward
Safety signs are new protection
Had an accident at work?
Not your fault?
We’ll find the one to blame
We’ll get you money
To take the pain away
A culture of blame
Creates a land of fear
The threat of legal action
Changes the course of ancient events
It throttles all the fun
The future may bring
A time of activities banned
For fear of grazed hands
Or a simple skinned knee
Will keep a child from play

Something’s got to give
The seas made blood red
By the whaler and the trawler man
Vast forests are laid to rest
For the farming of cheap beef
Something’s got to give
The last of it’s kind
Gunned down with glee
A river made poison
Suffocates its cradled life
Something’s got to give
Great chimneys blow smog
To block out the sun
The polls of the earth
Thaw to raise the sea
Something’s got to give
Oil spills and meltdowns
The planet bares the load
Now the earths on life support
Can it take another one for the team?
Something’s got to give

BNP
A face in the crowd
Unlike your own
Your mind fills with dread
And you fear a time
When white isn’t right
So at the next election
You vote for the BNP
No more than pseudo Nazi’s
There the only ones that understands you
The only ones who care
They gain your vote by fear
Distortion of imagery
And twisting of truths
They make you believe
Without showing proof
Focussing on insecurities
They prey on the weak
Convincing you it’s all “their” fault
They have taken your jobs
Their the reason your poor
All the fascist propaganda
Spreads throughout the land
Turning neighbour against neighbour
To suit their own ends
You’re just a puppet on a string
And if they come to power
They’d sterilise our culture
Those that helped will be forgotten
Their tyranny will serve themselves
And the “British” will be gone
The country floats on a sea of greed
With a plastic swipe
They want for nothing
They need everything

Welcome
I've decided to upload all my creative writing I can find on my computer, most dates back a few years. I'm still working on stuff at them at the moment but its nowhere near ready for public scrutiny.
Enjoy
